The tour begins in the picturesque hamlet of Tarasp, Fontana. The hamlet is situated directly below the castle and on the shores of Lai da Tarasp, where you can admire a "moon", an art object by the owner of the castle and artist Not Vital. From the bus stop, however, you walk in the opposite direction of the Tarasp Castle towards the Butia, a small grocery store. The route continues past the Catholic church (Tarasp is the only village in the Lower Engadine that is Catholic) until you ascend to the right up to Fontana, Sura. Follow the path keeping to the right until you enter the forest and from here follow the path steadily towards "Resgia Veglia" (old sawmill). At the sawmill you will see a little bridge leading over the stream "Aua da Plavna", a beautiful place. Continue into the Val Plavna until you reach the destination "Chaldera" after about 3 km and take the path back to Tarasp, Fontana.
