Easy hike along the Inn, across the snowy plains towards Zernez.
Distance 7.5 km
From the Susch train station the road leads to the western end of the village. Cross the covered wooden bridge to the other side of the Inn River, where the hiking trail begins. The path always follows the Inn upstream to the spacious plains on the valley floor. Continue on to Zernez by hiking to the point where the valley becomes narrower and narrower and the Engadine road, the Inn, the cross-country ski run and the winter hiking trail meet up. At this point you pass through the village and reach the train station.
The "La Tuor" tower and the church characterise the village of Susch. In the triangle between Scuol, Zernez and Davos, the pass village at the foot of the Flüela is ideally situated for excursions to the neighbouring villages and valleys. The only place in the Lower Engadine where the Inn flows through the middle of the village, together with the Flüela Pass and the Vereina Tunnel, forms the only traffic junction to the northwest. A visit to the "Rohan" fortress is particularly recommended.
