The road from San Jon to S-charl is closed in winter and therefore a dream for horse-drawn sleighs and winter hikers. You can get to San Jon by car or taxi, and from here you go up through a forest and into the side valley. For about ten kilometres, you can experience the magnificent forests, the view of the edge of the Swiss National Park and a real valley feeling. Snow-covered like this, it seems like something out of a fairy tale.

Hint:

This tour suggestion is only calculated for the way to S-charl. The return to Scuol can also be done on foot along the same route or enjoyed on a horse-drawn sleigh. The ride on the horse-drawn sleigh must be reserved in advance at the Gasthaus Mayor.

Author’s recommendation

The Inn Mayor in S-charl offers hot meals and horse-drawn sleigh rides, which make the way back a unique experience.
