The tour begins in the centre of Samnaun-Compatsch and leads steadily uphill through the mountain forest along the Zitatenweg into the Zanders valley. After the crossing of the Malfragbach and thus of the national border it goes over the Zanders meadows up to the Fliesseralpe. After a stop for refreshments, the path leads directly under the alp to the Zandersbach. Passing a beautiful playground with a fireplace, after an easy descent, you reach Spiss (1678 m above sea level), the highest municipality in Austria. At the church in Spiss you turn into the L348 Spisser Strasse, which leads down to the customs office in Spissermühle. About 1.5 km the tour follows the main road back to Samnaun-Compatsch.
