From Ardez, the trail leads into the Val Tasna. Follow the mountain stream to Alp Valmala and to Alp Urschai in the valley of the same name. At the back of the valley, near the turnoff to the Futschöl Pass, the most spectacular finds were made. It has been proven that people sought shelter under the large rocks of Plan da Mattun more than 10,000 years ago. Ceramic remains dating back some 3,000 years have also been found on Plan da Mattun, which suggests that a certain form of alpine farming was already developing at that time. You leave the Val d'Urschai on a somewhat steeper path towards the Futschöl Pass, the highest point of the hike. With the Futschölpass you also cross the national border. The trail now leads down to the Jamtal Hut, which has 180 sleeping places and 225 restaurant places. Along the Jambach you hike a good nine kilometres down the entire Jamtal valley to Galtür. The trail is not to be underestimated.
