Piz Lischana - crossing from S-charl to San Jon

Between the broad Inn valley (in Rätoromanic En), the original Valle S-charl and the österian border lies Piz Lischna, a prominent peak of the Sesvenna group. The mountain group consists of dolomite stone, which is why it is also called the "Engadine Dolomites". The Lower Engadine dolomite rightly has a bad reputation among climbers because of its brittleness. In July 2011, 2000 cubic metres of rock broke off the summit. Fortunately, no one was injured. Since there is a risk of further break-offs, the highest point should no longer be accessed.
