Der Piz Chavalatsch ist ein Grenzberg zwischen der Schweiz und Südtirol und liegt am Rand des Nationalparks Stilfserjoch. Der Anstieg liegt etwas versteckt auf der Süd- und Nordwest-Seite und wartet mit herrlichem Schigelände auf. Der Anstieg zum Gipfel mit seiner aus Steinen gebauten Wetterstation ist wohl am schönsten über die weitläufige Südostmulde. Besonders attraktiv ist die Abfahrt bei Firn oder auch bei Pulver über die steile Südwestflanke.
