The Samnaun double-decker cable car was the first cable car in the world to use double-decker cabins. The cabins each hold 180 people, 114 of them on the lower level and 65 people, plus the cabin attendant, on the upper level. A fully occupied cabin weighs 27 tonnes.The double-decker lift is the fastest lift in the Samnaun/Ischgl ski area, running at up to 10 metres per second, which corresponds to 36 km/h.
