Mountain hikes in Valchava

Wanderung von Lü im Val Müstair zum höchstgelegenen Arvenwald Europas «God da Tamangur» und weiter nach S-charl. 

«Tamangur» – the fairytale name of the highest Swiss stone pine forest in Europe – crowns the hiking day. Pleasant ascent from the idyllic village of S-charl past Alp Astras over the old Pass da Costainas to Lü.

Highlight! First a little up to Jufplaun, then in a long wide valley down to Valchava. Impressive the mixture of the wide valley and rugged mountains - almost like in Canada. 

Dritte Etappe der mehrtägigen Nationalpark Wander-Tour, einfache Variante. Höhenwanderung via Alp da Munt und Alp Champatsch nach Tschierv mit Ausblick auf die markanten Bergspitzen des Piz Daint und Piz Dora und die schneebedeckte Kuppe des Ortlermassivs.

Eine Rundwanderung auf deren höchstem Punkt (Piz Terza) man eine schöne Aussicht geniessen kann. Einkehrmöglichkeiten in Lü und auf der Alp Champatsch.

Through beautiful stone pine forests you hike past the dreamy Lai da Valpaschun and reach the small village of Lü. 

Beautiful hike through the forest nature reserve God da Tamangur; stretching across 86ha. Here nature can develop freely - no more trees are felled and those that die are left lying where they are. Up to an altitude of 2400 m, individual trees grow extremely slowly and can thus live up to 700 years. The stone pine (bith the Italian: Pinus pinea, and the Swiss: Pinus cembra) is the only type of pine tree with five needles, and from which edible Pine Nuts (Pinoli) are harvested.
