Welcome to the Relais & Châteaux IN LAIN Hotel Cadonau, the smallest 5-star superior Hotel of Switzerland!
The 400 years old, beautiful original Engadin house was renovated in a gently and stylish way. A jewel was emerged. IN LAIN is a romanesque term and means in english "wood". It is obvious that the house was built with high-quality wood of the Engadin. The entrance is warm and cozy, and dear guests, you will be warmly welcome in a snuggery made of Swiss stone pine.
3 of our special restaurants are located in the Engadin house Relais & Châteaux INLAIN hotel Cadonau. The restaurant La Stüvetta with its Talvo, the restaurant Käserei for tasty cheese fondues and the gourmet restaurant Vivanda (awarded with 1 Michelin star and 17 Gault&Millau points).
Additionally, the Engadin junior suite as well as the family rooms are located in this traditional Engadin house. From December 2011, 11 dream suites, a sun terrace, a bar/lounge complete the offer of the Relais & Châteaux INLAIN hotel Cadonau.

Public transport

With the Rhaetian Railway (from Chur, Landquart/Prättigau, Scuol or Upper Engadine) hourly to Zernez.
From Zernez continue by bus in the direction of Cinuos-chel-Brail, staziun

By road

Brail is situated in the middle of the Engadin valley, very near to the Swiss National Parc and only 27 km away from St. Moritz and 34 km from Scuol. The hotel is situated on 1624 a.s.l. in a very quiet location and beautifal landscape.
By train you travel from Landquart with the RhB (Rhätische Bahn) via the Vereina-tunnel until Cinuos-chel Brail. If you let us know your arrival time, we pick you up at the station of Cinuos-chel Brail (free of charge).
By car during summer you can choose between the alpine passes Flüela, Albula and Julier - each with an impressive and different scenery. In winter season you reach us by car via Landquart, Klosters/Selfranga, Vereina-tunnel, Sagliains. From there it is only 20 minutes driving distance to Brail. You can inform yourself via https://www.rhb.ch/de/autoverlad-vereina if you have to expect waiting times.
Your room is usually ready from 3 pm onwards. Drive directly in front of the hotel entrance. We are happy to unload your car while you enjoy our welcome drink. Check-out time 11 am.
